As Companies Committed to Care, our Treads & Threads sponsors invest in the future of our community by supporting the mission of the region’s premier academic medical center. Through their donations, these forward-thinking organizations help expand and enhance care for cancer patients, bringing more lifesaving options to the people of Kansas City and the region.

In 2009, Treads & Threads proceeds will help expand the area for blood and marrow transplant (BMT) apheresis on the main hospital campus. The unit currently struggles to accommodate the increasing number of patients with leukemia, lymphoma and other blood cancers who desperately need the lifesaving treatments we provide.

Proceeds also will help establish an exciting new service for cancer patients: an appearance center at the Richard and Annette Bloch Cancer Care Pavilion in Westwood. Offering wigs, turbans, scarves, hats, lymphedema garments, skin care and other products for patients undergoing treatment, private fittings for post-mastectomy prostheses and much more. The new center will help cancer patients and survivors restore their dignity and reclaim their self-image in their journey to heal and feel whole again.
