When you enter an event sponsored by the University of Kansas Hospital Authority (the “Hospital”), you enter an area where photography, video recording, and audio recording may occur. Group or individual candid photographs and recordings are often taken at Hospital events. The Hospital is the sole owner of these photographs and recordings and may use these items at its sole discretion for use in any materials including promotional or advertising efforts.
By entering the event premises, you consent to interview(s), photography, audio recording, video recording and its/their release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction to be used for news, web casts, promotional purposes, telecasts, advertising, inclusion on web sites, or any other purpose by the Hospital and its affiliates and representatives. You release the Hospital, its officers and employees, and each and all persons involved from any liability connected with the taking, recording, digitizing, or publication of interviews, photographs, computer images, video and/or sound recordings.
By entering the event premises, you waive all rights you may have to any claims for payment or royalties in connection with any exhibition, streaming, webcasting, televising, or other publication of these materials, regardless of the purpose or sponsoring of such exhibiting, broadcasting, webcasting, or other publication irrespective of whether a fee for admission or sponsorship is charged. You also waive any right to inspect or approve any photograph, video, or audio recording taken by the Hospital or the person or entity designated to do so by the Hospital.
The Hospital reserves the right to use any photograph and/or recording taken on Hospital property or at any event sponsored by the Hospital without the express written permission of those included within the photograph or recording. The Hospital may use the photograph and/or recording in publications or other media material produced, used, or contracted by the Hospital, including but not limited to: brochures, invitations, books, newspapers, magazines, television, websites, etc.
Images are strictly prohibited from being reproduced, copied, or altered in any way other than by the Hospital and its official representatives.
If you prefer not to be included in photographs or recordings, please step away from the camera or inform the photographer if you have inadvertently been included. Photographers may honor such requests at their own discretion.
The Hospital is not obligated nor required to remove your voice or likeness from any interview(s), photography, audio recording, video recording, publications, exhibitions, or reproduction to be used for news, web casts, promotional purposes, telecasts, advertising, inclusion on web sites, or any other purpose, but will consider removing and may remove any photographs or recordings at the written request of the individual. PHOTO REMOVAL POLICY
Any person desiring not to have their photograph and/or recording distributed must contact the University of Kansas Hospital Authority (the “Hospital”) at treadsandthreads@kumc.edu in writing. The request must include contact information for the individual whose likeness is featured and is requesting the content be removed and identification of the photograph or recording or other materials that can easily identify the photograph or recording that removal is being requested. In the event that a photograph and/or recording from a Hospital event has already appeared in a publication, please include detailed information about the publication and the photograph and/or recording. Upon receipt of the written notification, the Hospital will make every effort to remove the requested photograph and/or recording in a reasonable time period. Photographs and/or recordings already included in publications may not be removed until a later publication is ready for distribution.
